Torah Parshat Ha'azinu, 7th Portion (Devarim (Deuteronomy) 32:44-32:52)

Deuteronomy 32:44-52

Complete Jewish Bible
(vii) 44 Moshe came and proclaimed all the words of this song in the hearing of the people and of Hoshea the son of Nun.
45 When he had finished speaking all these words to all Isra’el, 46 he said to them, “Take to heart all the words of my testimony against you today, so that you can use them in charging your children to be careful to obey all the words of this Torah. 47 For this is not a trivial matter for you; on the contrary, it is your life! Through it you will live long in the land you are crossing the Yarden to possess.”
(Maftir) 48 That same day Adonai said to Moshe, 49 “Go up into the ‘Avarim Range, to Mount N’vo, in the land of Mo’av across from Yericho; and look out over the land of Kena‘an, which I am giving the people of Isra’el as a possession. 50 On the mountain you are ascending you will die and be gathered to your people, just as Aharon your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people. 51 The reason for this is that both of you broke faith with me there among the people of Isra’el at the M’rivat-Kadesh Spring, in the Tzin Desert; you failed to demonstrate my holiness there among the people of Isra’el. 52 So you will see the land from a distance, but you will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Isra’el.”

2 Samuel 22
English Standard Version
David's Song of Deliverance
1 And David spoke to the Lord the words of this song on the day when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. 2 He said
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
3 my[a] God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence.
4 I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.
5 “For the waves of death encompassed me, the torrents of destruction assailed me;[b]
6 the cords of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me.
7 “In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I called.
From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry came to his ears.

8 “Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations of the heavens trembled
and quaked, because he was angry.

9 Smoke went up from his nostrils, and devouring fire from his mouth; glowing coals flamed forth from him.
10 He bowed the heavens and came down; thick darkness was under his feet.
11 He rode on a cherub and flew; he was seen on the wings of the wind.
12 He made darkness around him his canopy, thick clouds, a gathering of water.
13 Out of the brightness before him coals of fire flamed forth.
14 The Lord thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered his voice.
15 And he sent out arrows and scattered them; lightning, and routed them.
16 Then the channels of the sea were seen; the foundations of the world were laid bare,
at the rebuke of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
17 “He sent from on high, he took me; he drew me out of many waters.
18 He rescued me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me,
for they were too mighty for me.
19 They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support.
20 He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me.
21 “The Lord dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he rewarded me.
22 For I have kept the ways of the Lord and have not wickedly departed from my God.
23 For all his rules were before me, and from his statutes I did not turn aside.
24 I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from guilt.
25 And the Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight.
26 “With the merciful you show yourself merciful; with the blameless man you show yourself blameless;
27 with the purified you deal purely, and with the crooked you make yourself seem tortuous.
28 You save a humble people, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them down.
29 For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness.
30 For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.
31 This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
32 “For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?
33 This God is my strong refuge and has made my[d] way blameless.[e]

34 He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights.
35 He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
36 You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your gentleness made me great.
37 You gave a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet[f] did not slip;
38 I pursued my enemies and destroyed them, and did not turn back until they were consumed.
39 I consumed them; I thrust them through, so that they did not rise; they fell under my feet.
40 For you equipped me with strength for the battle; you made those who rise against me sink under me.

41 You made my enemies turn their backs to me,[g] those who hated me, and I destroyed them.
42 They looked, but there was none to save; they cried to the Lord, but he did not answer them.
43 I beat them fine as the dust of the earth; I crushed them and stamped them down like the mire of the streets.
44 “You delivered me from strife with my people;[h] you kept me as the head of the nations;
people whom I had not known served me.
45 Foreigners came cringing to me; as soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me.
46 Foreigners lost heart and came trembling[i] out of their fortresses.
47 “The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation,
48 the God who gave me vengeance and brought down peoples under me,
49 who brought me out from my enemies; you exalted me above those who rose against me;
you delivered me from men of violence.
50 “For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations, and sing praises to your name.
51 Great salvation he brings[j] to his king, and shows steadfast love to his anointed,
to David and his offspring forever.”

Romans 10:14-21
English Standard Version
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?[a] And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
18 But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for “Their voice has gone out to all the earth,
and their words to the ends of the world.”
19 But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, “I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry.”
20 Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, “I have been found by those who did not seek me;
I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”
21 But of Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”

Romans 12:14-21
English Standard Version
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.[a] Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it[b] to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Hebrews 12:28-29
English Standard Version
28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Colossians 1:1-23

English Standard Version
Greeting
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother
2 To the saints and faithful brothers[a] in Christ at Colossae:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father.
Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, 6 which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, 7 just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant.[b] He is a faithful minister of Christ on your[c] behalf 8 and has made known to us your love in the Spirit
9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; 12 giving thanks[d] to the Father, who has qualified you[e] to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
The Preeminence of Christ
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by[f] him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation[g] under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Psalm 116:12-19

English Standard Version
12 What shall I render to the Lord for all his benefits to me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord,
14 I will pay my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
16 O Lord, I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant.
You have loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people,
19 in the courts of the house of the Lord, in your midst, O Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord!

Observation
I praise GOD in 2 Samuel 22 because 4 I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. GOD indeed hears and listens to the humble and lowly. 5 “For the waves of death encompassed me, the torrents of destruction assailed me;[b6 the cords of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me. Somehow during my Yom Kippur fast, I felt this way, I felt like I wanted to die and that the problems and troubles of my world is too great for me, that is why it says waves of death encompassed me. But when we call on GOD HE is faithful so merciful to hear and save us. 8 “Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations of the heavens trembled and quaked, because he was angry. GOD does become angry and so HE lets the earth shake so that people know and are aware of HIS presence and HIS Power, because people forget. But when we repent when HE rebukes us HE is faithful to hear our prayers: 17 “He sent from on high, he took me; he drew me out of many waters. 18 He rescued me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me,
for they were too mighty for me.

Application
I felt 2 Samuel 22 from September 30th during the earth shaking until I prayed and fasted on Yom Kippur on October 2. When I fast I always feel like every trouble I have and everything going on around me is overwhelming. Like I am helpless, like I am dying, and I want to die. This is what it feels like when I fast and GOD's voice and message is clear and loud. But when we repent of our sins and turn from doing wrong, GOD is so faithful to make me feel strong, alive, ready to live and take on the challenges of this world. During the fast and right after it, I felt so helpless and desperate, without power, without hope, but after repenting and resolving to do what GOD has instructed me to do, I feel HIM giving me the power to be able to do what I cannot do on my own, just the decision to follow GOD is one step of faith towards obedience and GOD will be the one to supply the energy, power to take YOU from one step to thousands of flighs to HIS will because of willingness and obedience.

Prayers
Dear AVI,
Blessed are YOU KING of GLORY YESHUA GOD ALMIGHTY, KING of the Universe!!! For YOU are holy, holy, holy, faithful and true!!! Thank YOU so much O GOD for hearing my prayers and causing me to live again after that dying moment that I experienced during the fast. Thank YOU for the  hope, for the energy, the will, the power to live another day for YOU because I truly am just nothing, a dead vessel without YOUR SPIRIT within me, causing me to will and to act and I pray O GOD that my husband loves YOU and follows YOU more than me. I pray that YOU bring us together this year. I pray that YOU will cause a miracle and breakthrough in our lives that when we meet, we will just know that YOU have chosen us for one another. I thank YOU LORD, that yesterday YOU provided for me Antoine who will help me with my dogs and today YOU are providing for me another boy to help us in the house. O GOD, thank YOU for enabling me to buy tickets for Manila and register for BAM because during Yom Kippur this is one of the clear instructions YOU told me to do which is to Arise and Go and so I pray dear GOD that YOU will continue to bring me where YOU want me, use me and fill me with YOUR SPIRIT and POWER because there is no other place that I want to be than to be in YOUR dwelling place of the Most High, abiding in the shadows of the Almighty! Thank YOU, AVI for answering my prayers even for my parents, our family, that when I am home, I do not feel overwhelmed in my own house because YOU have blessed our union with the family. I pray O GOD that YOU bless the union of my church and the entire body of CHRIST. I pray that YOU will heal continually Manuela Ugaddan and save and deliver Janie Rose Gulfan, Michael Placencia, Raymund Cal and Predo Ordoyo. I pray that YOU take care of everything concerning us and that YOU will make things right with Gerry Beran. I pray that YOU will bless Jade and Carl Jhon and that they will be able to find YOU in their lives on their own, that YOU will give them the grace to surrender to YOU, and live for YOU. Even LORD for the rest of our people that YOU bless each one working for us with peace and comfort becuase YOUR presence is with us. And I pray bless our church practice today and I pray that YOU continue to speak to me every moment of my day, everyday of my life and bless my husband with peace, wisdom, truth, courage and strength that comes from YOU, give him faith and understanding and help him to follow YOU diligently in Spirit and in Truth. For YOU O LORD are the LORD our GOD, who is worthy of all honor, glory, power and praise!

In the Name of YESHUA HaMashiach, AMEN!!!
