1 This is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the people of Israel before his death. 2 He said, “The Lord came from Sinai and dawned from Seir upon us;[a]
he shone forth from Mount Paran; he came from the ten thousands of holy ones,
with flaming fire[b] at his right hand.
3 Yes, he loved his people,[c] all his holy ones were in his[d] hand;
so they followed[e] in your steps, receiving direction from you,
4 when Moses commanded us a law, as a possession for the assembly of Jacob.

The Day of the Lord
1 Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers,[a] you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 5 For you are all children[b] of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Final Instructions and Benediction
12 We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. 14 And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle,[c] encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. 15 See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies, 21 but test everything; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.

Observation
Being sober and awake is what Paul writes to the people of Thessalonia. We as GOD's children are all responsible to bear HIS light into the World for GOD has set us apart for HIS purpose, HIS use, HIS glory and HIS praise. We cannot live as the world lives, we are different from the World and most of the time, true children of GOD indeed suffer persecution, and difficulty in this world because we are not part of this world, although we are in it, we are here to bring the world to CHRIST. But GOD warns us to be awake and sober so that CHRIST can fully do HIS work through us and to us. How can GOD use us like HE used Daniel if we live like the rest of the world? There has to be sacrifices and discipline that we ought to do in order for us to keep following GOD just as Daniel did.
Application
I love this reminder and word of GOD for Thessalonia, because it speaks to me today. I am sober and awake but somehow sleepy in the Spirit and usually we become sleepy when we are not pressed with trials but no! I am not complacent, not doing anything significant in my life, I am faced with heartache and frustration day after day and even though I long for the day I could no longer feel all the frustration and insecurity and heartache, GOD has always been faithful to give me the rest that I need to fight another day, HE gives me the strength and the rest to recharge from the weariness of life because JESUS HIMSELF is my rest, HIS yoke is easy and HIS burden light, I rest in HIM, I cling to HIM, I worship HIM, HE is my inheritance of peace and joy in this world of chaos and depression. I will cling to GOD, this is the only way for me to survive being HIS child in this dark world.

How GREAT are YOU O GOD, HOW Super powerful, YOU alone are GOD of all, Creator, Superior, Almighty, Loving Savior - YESHUA KING of the Universe!!! O LORD JESUS Thank YOU For this day that YOU have made, thank YOU for this time, this moments on earth that I have with YOU where I can just lay all my burdens to YOU and YOU speak to me, through YOUR WORD giving me life, giving me strength, energy to face another day to be who YOU want me to be. I am just tired LORD sometimes, even the night does not give me rest when the enemy is trying to disturb my sleep by giving me bad dreams. O GOD, forgive the anxious thoughts of my heart, forgive me when I am worried about many things, when I am not trusting YOU, forgive me when I am doing things my way, when I am offended and straying from YOU O GOD please I pray for the things that bother me - the disunity, the disrespect of younger towards the elder. Forgive us LORD when we have become proud, please deal with the proud children in YOUR church and speak to them O GOD, Speak to all of us, help our hearts to be aligned with YOURS, help us to think of others better than ourselves O GOD, speak YOUR Truth to us and help all of us to walk in YOUR truth. Comfort YOUR leaders O GOD, and help them to react and lay down everything at YOUR Feet knowing YOU are more than able to restore and redeem all that the enemy has sought to destroy. I pray O GOD, for a miracle please O GOD, do not forget me, do not forget YOUR Promises to me to be loved, to be sought after, to be married to the man YOU have chosen for me. I want to have 2 children LORD, twins let it be if my body is able to deliver them, only YOU O GOD knows, I pray O GOD for my parents to treat me with respect and dignity and not just do whatever abuse they may do with me just because I love them. I pray O GOD protect us all from destroying one another, but help us to do good to one another. I pray for love to bind us all together as one. I pray for healing for Manuela Ugaddan, I ask YOU to speak to the hearts of the lost and captive and save Janie Rose Gulfan, Michael Placencia, Raymund Cal, Predo Ordoyo and our consultants who have been with us. I thank YOU for every help YOU have given me in the business, I pray O GOD to be able to share GOD's love to Mam Enriqueta Lagman and that she will know YOU more and love YOU. I pray O GOD that YOU take care of my dogs and my entire family even as I go to Manila to do YOUR will. I pray that YOU take care of my church and everyone be healed and restored to one another. That YOU will heal us with YOUR Presence this morning as we worship YOU, prepare and equip Asher Cabalan, Kim, Megan and I to serve YOU, we cannot do anything without YOU LORD. I pray O GOD help me to face this world full of problems and troubles. I pray O GOD help me KING JESUS!
And bring my husband and I together soon, so that YOU will be glorified in our lives as someone who had answered our prayers that we asked of YOU for a very very long time because YOU are faithful and true!!! YOU deserve all the glory, all the honor, the power and the praise!!!
