Wait for the God of Salvation
1 Woe is me! For I have become as when the summer fruit has been gathered,
as when the grapes have been gleaned: there is no cluster to eat, no first-ripe fig that my soul desires.
2 The godly has perished from the earth, and there is no one upright among mankind;
they all lie in wait for blood, and each hunts the other with a net.
3 Their hands are on what is evil, to do it well; the prince and the judge ask for a bribe,
and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul; thus they weave it together.
4 The best of them is like a brier, the most upright of them a thorn hedge.
The day of your watchmen, of your punishment, has come; now their confusion is at hand.
5 Put no trust in a neighbor; have no confidence in a friend; guard the doors of your mouth
from her who lies in your arms;[a]

Be Ready for Every Good Work
1 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. 3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. 9 But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. 10 As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.
Final Instructions and Greetings
12 When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. 13 Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; see that they lack nothing. 14 And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful.
15 All who are with me send greetings to you. Greet those who love us in the faith.
Grace be with you all.

116 Uphold me according to your promise, that I may live, and let me not be put to shame in my hope!
117 Hold me up, that I may be safe and have regard for your statutes continually!
118 You spurn all who go astray from your statutes, for their cunning is in vain.
119 All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross, therefore I love your testimonies.
120 My flesh trembles for fear of you, and I am afraid of your judgments.

English Standard Version
5 And Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents, 6 so that the land could not support both of them dwelling together; for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together, 7 and there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were dwelling in the land.
8 Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen.[a] 9 Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.” 10 And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11 So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley, and Lot journeyed east. Thus they separated from each other. 12 Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom. 13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the Lord.
14 The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, 15 for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. 16 I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted. 17 Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.” 18 So Abram moved his tent and came and settled by the oaks[b] of Mamre, which are at Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

4 The best of them is like a brier, the most upright of them a thorn hedge.
The day of your watchmen, of your punishment, has come; now their confusion is at hand.
5 Put no trust in a neighbor; have no confidence in a friend; guard the doors of your mouth
from her who lies in your arms;[a]
6 for the son treats the father with contempt, the daughter rises up against her mother,
the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.
7 But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation;
my God will hear me.
8 Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness,
the Lord will be a light to me.
9 I will bear the indignation of the Lord because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my cause
and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out to the light; I shall look upon his vindication.
10 Then my enemy will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, “Where is the Lord your God?”
My eyes will look upon her; now she will be trampled down like the mire of the streets.
11 A day for the building of your walls! In that day the boundary shall be far extended.
12 In that day they[b] will come to you, from Assyria and the cities of Egypt,
and from Egypt to the River, from sea to sea and from mountain to mountain.
13 But the earth will be desolate because of its inhabitants, for the fruit of their deeds.
14 Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your inheritance, who dwell alone in a forest
in the midst of a garden land;[d] let them graze in Bashan and Gilead as in the days of old.
15 As in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt, I will show them[e] marvelous things.
16 The nations shall see and be ashamed of all their might; they shall lay their hands on their mouths;
their ears shall be deaf;
the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.
7 But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation;

their ears shall be deaf;
17 they shall lick the dust like a serpent, like the crawling things of the earth;
they shall come trembling out of their strongholds; they shall turn in dread to the Lord our God,
and they shall be in fear of you.
they shall come trembling out of their strongholds; they shall turn in dread to the Lord our God,
and they shall be in fear of you.
God's Steadfast Love and Compassion
18 Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love.
19 He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot.
You will cast all our[f] sins into the depths of the sea.
20 You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham,
as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

1 An oracle concerning Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum of Elkosh.
God's Wrath Against Nineveh
2 The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord is avenging and wrathful;
the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies.
3 The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.
His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 He rebukes the sea and makes it dry; he dries up all the rivers;
Bashan and Carmel wither; the bloom of Lebanon withers.
5 The mountains quake before him; the hills melt; the earth heaves before him,
the world and all who dwell in it.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the heat of his anger?
His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken into pieces by him.
7 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.
8 But with an overflowing flood he will make a complete end of the adversaries,[a]
and will pursue his enemies into darkness.
9 What do you plot against the Lord? He will make a complete end; trouble will not rise up a second time.
10 For they are like entangled thorns, like drunkards as they drink; they are consumed like stubble fully dried.
11 From you came one who plotted evil against the Lord, a worthless counselor.
12 Thus says the Lord, “Though they are at full strength and many, they will be cut down and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more.
13 And now I will break his yoke from off you and will burst your bonds apart.”
14 The Lord has given commandment about you: “No more shall your name be perpetuated;
from the house of your gods I will cut off the carved image and the metal image.
I will make your grave, for you are vile.”
15 [b] Behold, upon the mountains, the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace!
Keep your feasts, O Judah; fulfill your vows, for never again shall the worthless pass through you;
he is utterly cut off.
19 He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot.
You will cast all our[f] sins into the depths of the sea.
20 You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham,
as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

Observation
In Genesis, when Abraham gave Lot the first choice to chose land for himself so that they could dwell in their own lands to separate and not quarrel over land, GOD saw that Abraham gave Lot the advantage and so GOD blessed Abraham even more when HE saw the humble heart of Abraham because GOD is compassionate to the lowly.
Micah describes GOD as a GOD who longs to forgive, HE wants to forget HIS anger for our sins against HIM because HE delights in steadfast love for HE is an ever loving, compassionate and gracious GOD. HE is faithful to fight for us and win every battle against our enemies for us. And because of GOD's great love, Nahum says GOD is jealous, and it's only right that HE is because HIS love is intense and steadfast, constant. HE will punish the wicked, vindicating us from our enemies, great in power yet slow to anger but will not let anyone get away with the wrong they have done and all evil.
Application
That is why in times of mistreatment and wrong people do against me, I should look to GOD for salvation for vindication, for redemption, for everything! Because it is GOD who satisfies our souls. wait on GOD like Micah in 7:7 But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. I just love being reminded of who GOD is, I need HIM to make me feel loved and secure, HE delights in steadfast love, and I delight and take security over HIS steadfast love because I am lost without HIM, broken, unsafe, insecure. I know how much I need HIM in my life like a wife needing her husband all the time. When I think about and meditate on who GOD is, it puts my heart to rest, even thought I see how others treat me unfairly, I learn to trust in GOD who is speaking HIS truth about HIMSELF to me today, enabling me to fix my eyes on HIM. Making me secure and feel loved by HIS perfect Being. I draw from GOD everything that I need, LOVE. I will keep trusting in HIS love, I will look to HIM to make things right for me in time.
