The Day of the Lord Will Come
1 This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, 2 that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, 3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, 6 and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. 7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,[a] not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies[b] will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.
11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Final Words
14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. 15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

They were at the tomb early in the morning, 23 and when they did not find his body, they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. 24 Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see.” 25 And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 So they drew near to the village to which they were going. He acted as if he were going farther, 29 but they urged him strongly, saying, “Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent.” So he went in to stay with them. 30 When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight. 32 They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” 33 And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” 35 Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.
Jesus Appears to His Disciples
36 As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!” 37 But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. 38 And he said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” 40 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish,[b] 43 and he took it and ate before them.
44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance for[c] the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
The Ascension
50 And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. 51 While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple blessing God.

The Testimony of John the Baptist

24 (Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.) 25 They asked him, “Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” 26 John answered them, “I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know, 27 even he who comes after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.” 28 These things took place in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
Behold, the Lamb of God
29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, because he was before me.’ 31 I myself did not know him, but for this purpose I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel.” 32 And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. 33 I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son[i] of God.”
Jesus Calls the First Disciples
35 The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, 36 and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” 37 The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. 38 Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?” 39 He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.[j] 40 One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus[k] was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ). 42 He brought him to Jesus. 28 All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar. 29 At the end of twelve months he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, 30 and the king answered and said, “Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?” 31 While the words were still in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, “O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you, 32 and you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. And you shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.” 33 Immediately the word was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar. Observation
In Luke 23, when JESUS was about to be crucified, and women were crying after HIM, HE told them, don't weep for me but for YOUR children... Why did HE say that? I believe that in the last days it is harder to raise children because of the evil of this world and that mothers will be weeping for their children because they will pray for them to JESUS to be saved from the evil of this generation. JESUS was about to suffer and women were weeping for HIM, but JESUS had to speak up at that very important moment, because HIS act of dying and sacrificing for them is exactly what they needed for their children to be saved. That is why HE says, don't weep for me, weep for YOUR unsaved children, it will be (a blessing) far better to be without children in the last days or (a time coming) which we are now here today.
Application
How should I react to the way JESUS said it is better to be childless at the time of HIS crucifixion, than to be with child? Should I not desire to be married and raise a family anymore? But deep inside I still desire marriage and partnership with a man who is following the LORD. Even if we are not to have children anymore, I want to be ONE and in unity with someone who loves JESUS as much as I do and follows him into the journey and destiny that GOD has prepared for us. In the beginning of my reading, GOD has caught my attention in John 1 because this word in the last part of John 1 HE had spoken to me about a certain man in the past whom HE promised to be a husband - Nathanel. Philip calls Nathanel and showed him JESUS because Nathanel had been seeking the CHRIST and JESUS HIMSELF proved HIMSELF to Nathanel by telling him how much HE knows Nathanel and this made Nathanel realize right away that JESUS was indeed the CHRIST because Nathanel knew HIS GOD only HE didn't know HIM in such a personal way. I believe that the husband GOD will show me is not yet a follower but a worshipper of a far away GOD when I meet him. But I will bring him to know the CHRIST intamately just like Nathanel and HE will follow CHRIST from a pure heart, healed and whole.

Dear AVI,
Blessed are YOU O LORD GOD HOLY faithful and true, YESHUA King of the Universe who rules and reigns the entire creation. O GOD Almighty, thank YOU for speaking to me so much today, directing my thoughts to YOUR will and plans for me, guiding me and leading me to the right way. O GOD, I thank YOU for the good night's rest, the blessed time I had with my siblings, for leading me and guiding me. I thank YOU GOD for everything that YOU are doing... for protecting my family and pets, with the blood of JESUS taking care of me and everything that concerns me. How much I need YOU LORD everyday of my life. I pray O GOD, for the family suffering under trial right now, Tita Ge to be humbled before YOU to endure and cling to YOU. I pray for Toni to be wise and guided by YOU, to be walking in the truth and be strong for her family and give her peace in spite of everything O GOD. I pray for Asher and Caleb to trust YOU and pray and resolve in their hearts to live their lives to build their family back from debt. I pray O GOD, help them, and that YOUR will will be followed in their family and that peace will guard their hearts. I pray O GOD that our family will learn from their tragedy and troubles and that we will live differently and protect ourselves from greed and the love of money. I pray O GOD that YOU heal the sick and save them: Manuela, Raymond and Predo and deliver the captives from prison to freedom, bring them in the truth: Michael Rhys, Janie Rose and Michael P. I pray O GOD for everyone to find their way to YOU, to repent and be content in YOU. I pray submission of mom to my Dad and to honor him with respect, I pray O GOD that we will be warned by this trouble happening in our church. I pray today to meet new friends and believers, I pray that YOU bless my time with Dorothy and Deric in unity and love, peace and understanding. I pray that Matet and Jeremey will also enjoy with us today and that we will discover greater truths today because I am asking YOU for YOUR presence, and grace to be with us, shekinah glory all over us. I pray O GOD let YOUR kingdom come, let YOUR will be done unto us, for YOU deserve all the glory, honor, power and praise, and I pray that YOU bring my husband and I together!!!
