23 Like the glaze[a] covering an earthen vessel are fervent lips with an evil heart.
24 Whoever hates disguises himself with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart;
25 when he speaks graciously, believe him not, for there are seven abominations in his heart;
26 though his hatred be covered with deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

28 A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin.

1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

4 Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?

God Rescues Lot
1 The two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth 2 and said, “My lords, please turn aside to your servant's house and spend the night and wash your feet. Then you may rise up early and go on your way.” They said, “No; we will spend the night in the town square.” 3 But he pressed them strongly; so they turned aside to him and entered his house. And he made them a feast and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house. 5 And they called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.” 6 Lot went out to the men at the entrance, shut the door after him, 7 and said, “I beg you, my brothers, do not act so wickedly. 8 Behold, I have two daughters who have not known any man. Let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you please. Only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof.” 9 But they said, “Stand back!” And they said, “This fellow came to sojourn, and he has become the judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them.” Then they pressed hard against the man Lot, and drew near to break the door down. 10 But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them and shut the door. 11 And they struck with blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house, both small and great, so that they wore themselves out groping for the door.
12 Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone you have in the city, bring them out of the place. 13 For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.” 14 So Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, “Up! Get out of this place, for the Lord is about to destroy the city.” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be jesting.
15 As morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be swept away in the punishment of the city.” 16 But he lingered. So the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 And as they brought them out, one said, “Escape for your life. Do not look back or stop anywhere in the valley. Escape to the hills, lest you be swept away.” 18 And Lot said to them, “Oh, no, my lords. 19 Behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness in saving my life. But I cannot escape to the hills, lest the disaster overtake me and I die. 20 Behold, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Let me escape there—is it not a little one?—and my life will be saved!”

Zechariah 10-12
Zechariah 10
6 “I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph.
I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.
7 Then Ephraim shall become like a mighty warrior, and their hearts shall be glad as with wine.
Their children shall see it and be glad; their hearts shall rejoice in the Lord.
8 “I will whistle for them and gather them in, for I have redeemed them,
and they shall be as many as they were before.
9 Though I scattered them among the nations, yet in far countries they shall remember me,
and with their children they shall live and return.
10 I will bring them home from the land of Egypt, and gather them from Assyria,
and I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to Lebanon, till there is no room for them.
11 He shall pass through the sea of troubles and strike down the waves of the sea,
and all the depths of the Nile shall be dried up.
The pride of Assyria shall be laid low, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.
12 I will make them strong in the Lord, and they shall walk in his name,” declares the Lord.

Warning Against Apostasy
11 About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

Hebrews 6
English Standard Version
1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of instruction about washings,[a] the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits. 4 For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. 7 For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. 8 But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.
9 Though we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things—things that belong to salvation. 10 For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. 11 And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Observation
GOD rescues Lot because Abraham interceded for Lot his niece and GOD was so faithful to hear the prayers of his servant, who believes HIM. HE sent the Angels to destroy the home of Lot but HE also sent them as rescuers and messengers. In Zechariah GOD says HE will strengthen Judah, gather them, bring them home, when GOD promises good to HIS people, I am encouraged because I feel like GOD is being good to me, that HE is promising the same to me. But we ought to be mature and discerning as the book of Hebrews commands, and in order to do so we have to practice discernment at all times by asking the HOLY SPIRIT to reveal all things to us in the light. a
Application
When I think of how GOD answers prayers, I just want to keep praying, I want to be close to HIM, I want HIM to answer my prayers but I also want to understand what HE wants to happen on earth and I want to be ONE with HIM so that no matter what hapens on earth, I will not be moved, I will be standing strong because GOD is my strength and my portion. I will hope in my GOD who will rescue me from Sodom, from Babylon, I will wait on HIM to rescue me by bringing me into a new home and a family that loves me. I pray for HIS grace and love to always surround me and that nothing in this world will move me but HIS word and HIS heart. I pray to be strong, to be one, to be focused on GOD, I don't want to live another day without GOD, without HIS love, HIS purpose, HIS assurance, HIS presence over my life. I want to be like Abraham not Lot, I want GOD to use me and even if I have to wait, I want GOD to fulfill HIS promises to me just as HE did with Abraham whom GOD was pleased.
