God Destroys Sodom
23 The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar. 24 Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven. 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But Lot's wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord. 28 And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.
29 So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.
Lot and His Daughters
30 Now Lot went up out of Zoar and lived in the hills with his two daughters, for he was afraid to live in Zoar. So he lived in a cave with his two daughters. 31 And the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth. 32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.” 33 So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father. He did not know when she lay down or when she arose.
34 The next day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let us make him drink wine tonight also. The Priests' Polluted Offerings
6 “A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. But you say, ‘How have we despised your name?’ 7 By offering polluted food upon my altar. But you say, ‘How have we polluted you?’ By saying that the Lord's table may be despised. 8 When you offer blind animals in sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you offer those that are lame or sick, is that not evil? Present that to your governor; will he accept you or show you favor? says the Lord of hosts. 9 And now entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. With such a gift from your hand, will he show favor to any of you? says the Lord of hosts. 10 Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, says the Lord of hosts, and I will not accept an offering from your hand. 11 For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be[b] great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts. 12 But you profane it when you say that the Lord's table is polluted, and its fruit, that is, its food, may be despised. 13 But you say, ‘What a weariness this is,’ and you snort at it, says the Lord of hosts. The Certainty of God's Promise
13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” 15 And thus Abraham,[b] having patiently waited, obtained the promise. 16 For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation. 17 So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. 19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Abraham and Abimelech
1 From there Abraham journeyed toward the territory of the Negeb and lived between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar. 2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah. 3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man's wife.” 4 Now Abimelech had not approached her. So he said, “Lord, will you kill an innocent people? 5 Did he not himself say to me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this.” 6 Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart, and it was I who kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not let you touch her. 7 Now then, return the man's wife, for he is a prophet, so that he will pray for you, and you shall live. And how have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and my kingdom a great sin? You have done to me things that ought not to be done.” 10 And Abimelech said to Abraham, “What did you see, that you did this thing?” 11 Abraham said, “I did it because I thought, ‘There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’ 12 Besides, she is indeed my sister, the daughter of my father though not the daughter of my mother, and she became my wife. 13 And when God caused me to wander from my father's house, I said to her, ‘This is the kindness you must do me: at every place to which we come, say of me, “He is my brother.”’
14 Then Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and male servants and female servants, and gave them to Abraham, and returned Sarah his wife to him. 15 And Abimelech said, “Behold, my land is before you; dwell where it pleases you.” 16 To Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. It is a sign of your innocence in the eyes of all[d] who are with you, and before everyone you are vindicated.” 17 Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, and also healed his wife and female slaves so that they bore children. 18 For the Lord had closed all the wombs of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah, Abraham's wife.

Observation
In Genesis the separation between the faithful and compromising is evident between Abraham and Lot. Lot was among the most sinful in Sodom and Gomorah, yet he chose to live there among the wicked and defiled while Abraham went opposite of Lot and continued in his faith with GOD. At the end even when GOD saved Lot and his daughters because of Abraham's intercession, they coming out of an evil City produced evil sons because their behavior has become wicked.
In Malachi, GOD choses whom HE loves, HE chose Jacob even though Isaac loved Esau more, because Esau had no regard for his birthright and this was wickedness before GOD, even though Esau was the eldest, he despised his privileges maybe because it was given to him without effort. But even though GOD loved Jacob so that he became Israel, it was still a hurtful thing for GOD to love those who took HIM for granted when they offered together sick and lame animals for worship sacrifices.
Application
I am Abraham because GOD has promised me not only a Husband but a son to raise a family with but it has been years like the wait Abraham did for 25 years since GOD promised Abraham until he received Isaac as the fulfillment of GOD's Promises. I can remember I was 15 years old since I was a youth that the youth leaders of our church, they started teaching me to pray for a future spouse and I have prayed. And I am now 43 years old and I remember my prayer journal when I was at 20 Years of Age that I prayed specifically for a foreign husband and wrote that list but in the different seasons of waiting that GOD had brought me to, I have learned to tear that list down to give way to whoever GOD has chosen for me. I have had many heartaches and today I am still believing GOD for the best for me. I know he is there someday and I will greatly rejoice over a King who is coming to dwell with me.

HOLY HOLY HOLY are YOU O LORD YESHUA GOD Almighty!!! Great is YOUR NAME!!! YOU are GOD eternal and KING forever! I pray O GOD that YOU keep my way pure and holy before YOU, may I ever be pleasing to YOU, may I always focus on YOU and the life that YOU have called me to live, may YOU help me to be faithful to YOU because it is not by my might, or power that I can please YOU on my own, it is by YOUR SPIRIT that works within me. I pray for Mom and her minions to be submissive to YOU, to respect their husbands and to have holy fear of YOU, I pray for Dad to be close to YOU, to love YOU and to focus on YOU and that YOU speak to my father and give him instructions. I pray O GOD that YOU will make me strong and steadfast in YOU, please not only me but my husband whom YOU have chosen, whom YOU have promised me. I pray O GOD that our faith will be pleasing to YOU and I pray that YOU prepare our lives for our future family and the work YOU have called us to do. I pray for healing for Dad and Jocelyn and Deric and all those who are sick will not be sick anymore. I pray long life and good health upon all my dogs and family members and all our workers because YOU have given them to me to make my stay on earth meaningful. I pray that YOU provide homes for all the dogs and families that will love them because they deserve to be loved and to be in families that will love them inside their homes. I pray O GOD that YOU give me a home with my husband that loves dogs and that YOU will help us to be good stewards of all that YOU have entrusted to us. I pray O GOD that YOU will take care of me even when I face challenges and trials that YOU will always give me people who can help me. I pray for my husband to search and find me. Let him find me O GOD please I pray that YOU will make it happen and equip us for the responsibilities that lie ahead. I pray O GOD that YOU will always give me joy even though I have needs and wants, and lacks, I pray that YOU will be my KING always reigning over me and all that concerns me will be dealt with by YOU because YOU are the GOD Almighty, the Great I AM! YOU deserve all the glory, honor and praise, YOU alone O GOD, worthy of all my praise!
